On April 29, the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) granted State Farm Florida’s amended request for an administrative hearing that, if necessary, would allow State Farm Florida to object to conditions attached to the OIR’s approval to its withdrawal plan. State Farm Florida’s amended petition was referred to the Division of Administrative Hearings (DOAH) and the next formal step is for DOAH to assign an Administrative Law Judge.
While we are pleased that the OIR has referred our petition to DOAH, we remain hopeful that the productive conversations we’ve had to date will lead to agreement with the OIR without having to go through the administrative hearing process.
